Senior Year

Senior year is a big year, 12th grade, last year before college, this year basically decides the rest of your life. There are so many things you have to get done in this last year oh high school, get good grades, apply for college, pass every class, decide the biggest decision of possibly your whole life, and at the same time you are expected to enjoy your last year of high school. Sometime these things are all hard to balance because of other factors in your life, friends, jobs, family, dating, or just life’s bullets that are thrown your way. Id like to share the things I do to help complete all these things, because senior year really can be a very stressful time period.

The first tip I would like to share is STAY AFTER. Most teachers are willing to stay after with their students, but this is something most students don’t take advantage of. Last year, my junior year, basically every day I would stay after for math, this really is what helped me do so well in the class, and this is exactly what I do this year. Teachers are willing to help you in basically anyway you need when you stay after, one on one teacher is much easier to understand then in class facing many distractions. Grades are important when it comes to applying to college, you have to keep them up so that colleges will be interested in you, if someone is willing to help you keep these grades up, take advantage of it, stay after and get your work done.

There are very good points made here. It is so stressful, especially when people have Senior Project first semester and have to fill out college essays and do everything for college, on top of play sports, trying to still have a social life, maybe get hours at a job and just keep grades up. It is very difficult to do all those things, and if a teacher isn’t willing to stay after with you when you are struggling, that is something that can be very hard and stressful especially if you need their help.

I agree with your view on senior year! It is definitely the most stressful of all four years and I wish someone would have been able to tell me all of these tips when I was a freshmen! Maybe it would have helped me with time management and improving my grades throughout the past couple of years!

I couldn’t have said it better myself ! Senior Year is so crazy especially trying to balance the rest of your life around the most important time in your life .. the more we grow up the more responsibility and things are we having to do and be responsible for. I wish going into high school we knew as much as we do know leaving high school.. At least i do, I wish i knew as much now so i could have many saved myself for failing classes and re-taking them rather then just getting the help to complete them !

I find this piece very helpful for future seniors. Speaking from experience, not staying after school as often as I should have really bit me in the end. This is a fantastic bit of advice to follow if you want to be successful senior year, rather than be struggling on a daily basis. Too many people get excited to graduate and don’t realize that it takes actual effort and time to receive that diploma. I really liked this post!
