Being on a team can create such good things such as having a bond with one another and the happiness of what you love to do. With having those strong connections it gives you high ability to succeed. The United States Women’s National Team is the perfect example of success. Since their big loss agains Japan in 2011 World Cup in Germany the team definitely struggled; it was such a major loss for them. You could just see the disappointment in all of their faces. The whole game started out rough with Lauren Cheney getting injured within minutes of the game; then Alex Morgan subbed in for Cheney and scored the first goal of the game. Being the youngest player on the team you could just see the pride from her and the teammates; they all got up and ran onto the field to congratulate her. It was an equal game; it came down to penalty shots Hope Solo the goalkeeper for the United States team had a rough game. Even though she had a extremely bad game her teammates were there to back her up the best they could. After the horrible loss the team trained as hard as they could for the 2012 summer Olympic games.
The team then had an unbelievable comeback and won the summer games and have been undefeated ever since. They are now preparing for the 2014 World Cup and hope to make it through it all with a victor. When you watch the games the team is so real with one another; it is unbelievable the teamwork and effort this Women’s National Soccer Team has provided. They are definitely my inspiration and many others’; this team is the unity of success.

This is a good piece because it not only focuses on the sport but also the meaning of being on a team. It is important to enjoy the sport you are playing, but it is also important to know how to be a team player. Knowing how to never give up no matter how tough the game may be, and to always keep trying!
