The Perfect Snow-Day

Since we were kindergartners we have grown to love snow-days. In our younger years our parents would let us wake up on our own, and knowing that we were suppose to be in school we would jump out of our beds, run to put on our snow-pants, jacket, hat, and mittens to enjoy the wonders of an overnight winter wonderland in our backyards, or at least I would as a child. Having grown up now, and being a senior snow-days mean something different for everyone. For some it means sleeping in until mid-afternoon, playing video games all day, watching tons of movies, catching up on work, or cleaning around the house. For me a snow day is a wonderful way to let my dreams wander.

A snow-day for me usual starts with me falling back to sleep for another two to three hours. When I wake up I start the day off like any normal person does. I use the bathroom, wash my hands, brush my teeth, and throw my hair into a bun. Snow-days basically mean I have time to waste, so after my basic morning routine is done I go downstairs, and make myself a big breakfast. Even though I only weigh a hundred, and two pounds I know how to eat. I normal make some tea, three eggs, a bagel, and bacon, and while eating I tend to curl up with a soft blanket and watch some t.v.

After my breakfast is done my whole snow-day is normally dedicated to getting inspired to sing, and write lyrics. With this school year I haven’t really had much time to myself anymore. I go to school, I do my homework, I go to work, and I see my boyfriend before bed. My days this school year have been a constant tiring routine which makes a snow day to myself greatly needed.

Snow days are the best when I can open my curtains after eating a good breakfast, and see snow covered trees glistening in the sunlight. I’ll set up my microphone, and computer next to the window, and I’ll just see what I can come up with throughout the whole day. Some days it takes a long time just to even get started trying to create a song, and other days I have so many idea’s just rushing through me. No matter what the case may be I love being able to spend my whole snow day around creating music.

There are many different things to do when we get a snow day, and it’s kind of amazing to see how we act during snow days now then from when we did when we were younger children. Throughout the years we love snow days, but I think we seniors love them just a little bit more than before, because we don’t have to make up them up at the end of the year, because we have a set graduation date.

I really liked reading this because it got my attention! I like how you added details like what exactly you ate for breakfast and not that it was just breakfast. It really captures what you enjoy doing with your time, but it also states what other people may be doing on their snow days.

Love the detail. It was very intersting as well. As a kid I would do pretty much what you do now. Take my time and I become very lazy. The part about us senoirs loving it much more is so true. We all love waking up and being happy we can still enjoy summer.

Great detail! When I was younger, I used to hate snow days, but now I’m so happy when one rolls along. Wasting time and being lazy is every once in a while is one of the greatest feelings 🙂

Such strong detail. You are right when you said “A snow-day for me usual starts with me falling back to sleep for another two to three hours.” Who doesn’t do this I mean come on what else is there to do on a cold early morning !

Wow the detail in this piece was incredible! I love having snow days. I feel like every time we have a snow day, I sit back and plan my day deeper than I would a normal day. I love the idea of getting to stay home and just be lazy for a day.
