Road Rage in Hallways

One thing that will not be missed is the hallways in between class periods. Fellow seniors can especially relate to this topic. Should the school put up traffic lights? Should they have teachers stand by doorways with orange vests on and direct the madness? Seriously what could be more obvious than someone behind you telling you to move.

So what is it that makes people wander down the halls the wrong way or just completely stop. There is no “ I am lost” excuse, it is the end of the year! Could something you need to say to your friend so important that you need to cause everyone behind you to stop? Even if it is so, why do people choose to do so right in the middle of the hall instead of the side? It makes no sense to anyone, yet a ton of people do it. It is as if they forget about everyone else, like they cannot hear how loud it gets. Those who are guilty of this task must remember that there are other people that actually need to go somewhere. In order to avoid being one of these people, here is a few tips:

Keep to the right side. If everyone tried their best to keep to the right side, there would not be such a problem. Yeah it is hard for people when there are lockers on both sides of the hall, but keeping to the right as much as possible will be beneficial for everyone in the halls.

If you need to talk to someone, then go off to the side. Just drag your friend over to where there is no one walking, and then talk. Try avoiding blocking the way, this will allow you to ask or say whatever you need to without annoying the life out of whoever is around (there is no doubt that if you stop in the middle, you annoy a few people).  This will just keep everyone in a good mood.

Finally, more at a decent pace. We all have a limited amount of time to get to a class, and have lockers that may be on the opposite end of where we need to be. So do not go off into a daze, wandering around as slow as possible. People will push you out of the way and become annoyed with you. Just remember that you are required to be in a class, even if you do not want to (and we all have the one class we all despise). But remember that there are not only students, but teachers as well that need to go to class. If you remember these tips, then you will avoid the wrath of the road rage.

I love you entry to the piece. It made me laugh and wanna read more. I feel like we should give this out to all the underclassman so they might know what to do and what not to do. I like how you made three easy steps for them.

You did a great job making this article funny but serious at the same time! This really is a issue at our school. I feel that as freshman, our class caught on quick on the proper way to walk in the hallways, but I agree that most underclassmen do not know how. It irritates me when I’m trying to get to my class quickly (and safely…), and the person in front of me suddenly stops to talk to a friend.

Just thinking about that “in between class time” makes me angry inside. There are so many people that do exactly what you said, go too slow, stop in the middle of the hallway, or just stand there. It really makes me wonder if they are self-aware and doing it to be a jerk, or they are just too out of it to realize that they are holding the people that actually want to go to class up. This piece has made me mad just thinking about it, but that’s good, don’t get me wrong. I love this piece actually, it paints a visualization of the four years of stopping behind somebody that has the need to talk to their friend in the middle of the hall. Great job on this work.

I loved this because it is absolutely true! It was both serious and funny. Make me laugh! Its awful trying to get to a class and have people in your way going to slow or just suddenly stopping. It gets very frustrating. You did very well on this piece! Great job 🙂
