Basketball

Basketball is one of the most popular sports in today‘s society. Basketball is fun because it’s something people can do with their family, friends, or strangers. To become a good basketball player athletes must know the basic fundamentals, they must practice on a consistent basis, and they must know how to play with team work. You have to have good aim to shoot, good jumping skills to rebound, you have to be quick, and also have good ball handling skills. In a real game there are only five players on the court, referees, foul outs, and rules like no running with the ball, no fouling, out of bounds and no running over the other teams players on offense. I really enjoy playing this game and I practice a lot with my friends. I think I am a pretty good player but hope to become an even better player. I usually play with my friends after school for fun or just to play around and have a good time.
I love watching basketball games on TV and usually watch the college teams play. Out of all of the college teams in the nation Kentucky has to be my overall favorite team. This happens to be my favorite team because it is a fairly successful team because they play at a very fast pace. Not only do they play at a fast pace, the team plays well together and the are pretty good at making their shots. They also have a very structured offense and they run their offense very well so with the fast pace and every man on the court working well together makes their offense flow smoothly. They have recently taken home the 2012 NCAA National Championship trophy, the Kentucky Wildcats remain the kings of college basketball again. It was 14 seasons since this school has won this championship, but the Wildcats head coach John Calipari has put the Wildcats back on top of the basketball mountain, and it does not seem like this is going away anytime soon. The 2012 championship is not the only reason why Kentucky is my favorite team. Over the course of the sport’s complete history, no other team has achieved as much success than the University of Kentucky. The Wildcats lead in nearly every major category of team success, including wins, championships, Final Four appearances, NCAA Tournament success and even fan attendance.
