DIY: Ping Pong Ball Lights

IMG_1346
Step 1: Grab some lights! They can be colorful or plain white, it’s really your preference! If you even wanted to you could buy some outdoor lights and use these to decorate outside. Just be sure not to use them in an area that will get a lot of direct rain because there is a possibility that the rain will collect in the ping pong balls.

Step 2: Buy some ping pong balls! I had just enough laying around my house to cover half the lights on one string which was about 45, but you could buy enough to cover a whole string of lights, again it’s your preference. You can get these just about anywhere, if you want them really inexpensive you could buy them off of Amazon!
Step 3: Cut a hole in the ball. Not too big because it will fall off the light, just big enough so that you can fit the light through.

Step 4: Put the ping pong balls on the lights. If you have enough to put them on every one then you can do that, but it's all up to you!
Step 4: Put the ping pong balls on the lights. If you have enough to put them on every one then you can do that, but it’s all up to you! This process took the longest amount of time, it probably took me about 20 minutes to put all the ping pong balls onto the lights.
Step 5: Plug 'em in! Your lights are done! Hang them up in your room to add a little something different.

This is where I put mine! There are many other places you can put your lights, like around a mirror or bordering your closet, or even around your bed, put them in a place that will add a little bit of your own style to your room. These can be perfect for dorm rooms! Overall, this was a fun and inexpensive DIY that can add uniqueness anywhere you put them!                                                 TOTAL ESTIMATED COST:  $15                               TOTAL ESTIMATED TIME: 30 minutes
