False Valor

False Valor is being committed more and more each day and needs to be stopped. False Valor means to impersonate military personnel. For example claiming to earn a purple heart or medal of honour when what ever branch they claim to be in has no record of them earning a medal. Or claiming to be part of unit that doesn’t exist and not knowing enough about their unit to prove they belonged to that specific unit, not knowing what unit their  MOS (Military Occupational Speciality ) belongs to or simply not knowing what their MOS is. It can be as simple as, not wearing their uniform properly.  Also wearing a family members uniform, pretending to be them and not actually earning anything.

False Valor is incredibly disrespectful especially to those who actually earned the medals, gave blood and sacrificed for our country to make sure those at home are safe and won’t be harmed. They are basically spitting in their faces by committing false valor. Committing false valor is punishable. It is considered a federal misdemeanor. If caught perpetrators will spend 6 months in prison and if you lied about earning a medal of honor which is a very prestigious medal to earn it goes up to a year. Some tips to spot out a military faker usually has to do with how they wear their uniform essentially.

There is a regulation in the way that the uniform is supposed to be worn. Certain things to look out for. The American flag patch goes on the right arm above the unit patch. The state patch goes on the left arm. The patch in the middle of the chest shows the military rank. On the right breast goes the last name name tag and on the left goes the U.S Army name tag. When outside it is required to where the PC ( Patrol Cap ) on the top of the head. Also required under the top of the uniform is a tan t-shirt which must be tucked in. The pant legs are to be tucked into the boots and to be bloused over the laces on the boots (The term “blousing” simply means to create a ballooned look around the ankle of each pant leg above the boot). False Valor is extremely offensive to real soldiers do not do it.

I agree 100% with you on this N— false valor is becoming more and more common. It makes me sick to think that people would go out of their way to get the benefits of being in the military and I’m glad you mentioned things to look out for. Those little things that people don’t know about that I didn’t know about I’m glad you touched on them and told us about them great piece people will learn a lot from reading this.
