Oily, combination and greasy hair types have multiple remedies you can make right in your own home. One product you could use to fight against the abundance of oil you may have locked into your roots, could be an oatmeal hair treatment. Used, this is helpful for elimination of excessive oil trapped. This can also help with hair growth. Oatmeal is great when mixed with other products such as, almond oil and coconut milk, made into an almost paste like substance and massaged throughout the hair. This can be done for about 20 minutes once a week, or however many seems necessary.
Apple cider vinegar is also a good treatment when mixed with water and just mixed into the hair. You could also mix this with whichever shampoo or conditioner that you use. The vinegar strips your hair of oil and missed residue from shampoo and conditioner that maybe was not rinsed completely out.
As weird as it may sound, strawberries can also be used for regulating your oily and greasy hair. Strawberries are filled with vitamin C which is an amazing hair growth vitamin. You can just mash a few us, and either put it straight into your hair, damp, or mix them with a few other oily preventing products.
Lemon juice and baking soda also reduced oil production in hair. Lemon juice is acidic and it takes away moisture, which in a person who has overly greasy hair’s opinion, this may be a great thing. This should not stay in hair for very long, because it can create brittle ends for your hair and start to break off or split. It all depends on how oily your hair really is.

I know that if you put lemon in your hair and go out in the sun it will make your hair lighter, if you do the lemon and baking soda mask could that potentially make hair slightly lighter or is it not left on long enough?
