Ever feel like going on a vacation but just do not have the time or money? Well who’s to say your mouth can’t take a trip while you stay right at home! This step by step tutorial/recipe will give you everything you need to make France-worthy crepes in the comfort of your own home!
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt
stick of butter
Procedure:
Combine dry ingredients, flour and salt, in a medium sized bowl(preferably stainless steel). Then crack each egg into a small bowl to avoid getting shells in the final batter. Next combine all of the liquid ingredients, milk, vanilla extract and eggs, into another medium sized, stainless steel bowl. Take a whisk (can also use a fork) and gently mix together the liquid ingredients until they are thoroughly combined. If you have an electric mixer it will come in handy for the next step, however a fork or hand-held whisk will also suffice. To create the final batter gently incorporate the liquid mix to the dry mix while either whisking by hand or mixing with the electric whisk on a low setting.
Now that the batter is complete, it is time to heat up the pan. Place a medium-sized frying pan on the surface of a stove burner and turn that burner on medium heat. Once the pan appears to have reached the desired heat, grab the stick of butter and lather it all over the surface of the pan(the butter should slightly bubble). Next gradually pour the batter into the pan until a thin layer creates a reasonable sized circle. It will be clear it is time to flip when the crepe turns from a pale color to a more yellowish gold. Using a spatula, gently flip the crepe onto its uncooked side and leave it on the pan for about 10 seconds. After this time has passed the crepe should be done cooking and you are ready to place it on a plate and continue these steps to cook the rest of the batter. After all the crepes are cooked, shut off your stove and enjoy your vacation!
