Date Balls

Directions:

– Ingredients: Dates, sugar, eggs, butter, flour, rice krispies, coconut.

–  The first thing you do is cook down 16 oz of dates in a medium saucepan with 1 cup of sugar, 1 egg, and 1 stick of butter. Cook all of these ingredients together on very low heat, until the date mixture is thick and smooth. Now pour the date mixture over the rice krispies in a large bowl. Knead together until everything is combined. Grease your hands with cooking spray lightly (so mixture doesn’t stick to your hands while you’re rolling dough into balls). Roll the date mixture into small balls, about one inch in size, and then roll in coconut if desired. Store in refrigerator till ready to serve. This recipe can be stored in the refrigerator for up too two weeks.

– This date ball recipe has been in my family for over 20 years, longer than I have been alive. It came from family to family and now my Mom makes them every holiday season. My Mom cooks a lot around the holiday season. She always makes a lot of baked goods for friends and family. This Date ball recipe is one of my Moms favorite recipes to make for friends and family. Everyone loves them and always ask for the recipe. My Mom is always very willing to give out our family recipe to anyone who wants it. When my mom gives out the recipe she is spreading our family’s traditions.

I love how step-by-step you made this post for your recipe! It seems like a pretty easy snack to make, and it sounds delicious. I love new ideas and food to try, especially snacks, so I’ll have to try it. I’ve done things similar to these, like peanut butter energy balls and they have almost as many ingredients and you are also able to store those for up to two weeks in the refrigerator. I feel like these are very similar to a lot of snack ideas.
