Contemporary R&B

Contemporary R&B can also be known just as R&B. This genre of music combines elements of the blues genre with pop, funk, hip hop, dance and soul. This genre is great for any type of mood and setting. If one was looking to try out new music and picked R&B I would recommend starting with artists like Jessie J,Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliott and R. Kelly. Although it is surprising that they can be put into this genre they do have some songs that are considered R&B. These artists are great to start out with seeing as they only have a few songs that can be put underneath this genre of music.
For others who have a little basis of R&B already but want to go further I would recommend Pharrell Williams, Keyshia Cole, Akon and Rihanna. These artists although still not completely R&B have more songs that can be put into this genre of music. Some of their songs can be put under this genre and they are great for people who already sort of listen to this style of music.
For the people who are already into this genre or for others who enjoyed the other artists I would recommend Stevie Wonder, Sam Smith, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. These artists are great and can mostly be put under R&B. Almost all of their music can be put into this genre so these are good artists for people who already like this style of music.

This is a very informative post. It reflects upon many versions of R&B while offering other examples from personal preference. I like how there are many different people in this genre of music that provide different styles but still stay true to the traditional R&B. What kinds of instruments are mostly played within the R&B genre other than the piano as shown above?
