Thomas Ranked #4

From February 18th up until the beginning of May, Thomas and the other six NAC softball colleges will be competing  for the 2015 conference title. The top four teams in the 2015 regular-season conference standings will qualify for the conference tournament, which gets underway Friday, May 1 and will continue through Sunday, May 3.

Every year the coaches from each league gather together and vote on which teams they believe will do the best, this is called a preseason poll. Their picks may not make it to the playoffs or be entirely successful, but their votes are based on prior knowledge and past performance of the teams.

The Thomas softball team has been selected fourth in the 2015 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) softball preseason poll. The Terriers received a total of 27 points. Castleton was selected as the top team in the preseason poll, ranked at number one. The Castleton Spartans received a total of 45 points, including four of the seven first place votes.

Husson was voted second with 44 points and claimed the other three first place votes, while the University of Maine at Farmington came in third with 28 points to round out the top three.

Voting for the preseason poll was conducted among the league’s head softball coaches.
