Cosmetology / Make-up & Makeovers

When you go to get you make up done, you can go to places like Ulta or Sephora and you can also have people come to you for a wedding or and party of some sort. For you to be able to pay them they have to be Professional and they have to have their license. Here are you steps to getting your makeup done by and professional makeup artist.

Usually when you go get your makeup done by a professional you pay around 50 and up.

Step 1: You talk to the person that will be doing your makeup and you talk to them about what you want for a look and what colors you want to have in you makeover. Or you can have the pick everything and surprise you.

Step 2: They will take all of your make up that you have on (if you do) they will take it off, and clean your face.

Step 3: They will moisturize your face.

Step 4: They will prime your face. When they prime your face it is to conceal all of your pores and it gives you face a nice smooth canvas to apply the following make up.

Step 5: They will apply foundation, foundation will hide all of your imperfections such as pimples blackheads and scars.

Step 6: Now it is time for concealer, this used under your eyes and will hide dark bags under the eyes. They will blend this out with a beauty-blender. (beauty-blender is a sponge that will blend everything out evenly.

Step 7: Now they will set you face with translucent powder to prevent creasing in you make up.

(Something to keep in mind you always use liquids before powders, you can go back in with your liquids after you use your powders!)

Step 8: Now they will go in with a loose powder and that will keep everything in its place.

Step 9: They will now apply some blush on that apples of your cheeks.

Step 10: Now they will move to your eyes and apply eye-shadow primer. This will help your eye shadow stay in place and it wont move or crease as the day goes on.

Step 11: Now they will apply that eye-shadow.

Step 12: Now they will apply eyeliner and mascara.

Step 13: They will now spray you face with a setting spray which will make everything melt right into each other and it will look seamless.

You are done! These are all the steps that you will need to know about getting a makeover.

So If you let them decide what goes on your face, like you said a “surprise” what happens if you don’t like the surprise they give you? Will you get a refund and will they take all the make up off?

Well @NCavallaro15 I guess not. Usually the makeup artist will know what they are doing and the out come of the person not liking it is slim. But yes that could happen and really don’t know what would happen.

I have always wanted to have someone do my makeup! But spending $50 or more does not seem worth it. Is there a certain brand of makeup that you prefer using more than another?

Do you know what brand professionals mostly use?

As a girl I would love my makeup to be done but like @Sgoulet15 said, $50 or more is not worth it. But do you know that if you do get your makeup done professionally, if they use organic or all natural make-up brands? Are they not tested on animals too? Either one of these things would be a plus and would make the experience maybe more worth while to me 🙂

Along with what others have said, do you know what brands professionals use? Is there a certain brand they prefer to use over other brands?

I have always thought getting my make up done would be so cool. This article also gave me tips on how to apply my own makeup in better ways than I did before. Are there other techniques that artists use to put make up on or are the all the same. Like the others what is the most common brand of make up that they use? Good post really informative!
