Taylor Swift was raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. Taylor’s grandmother had been a professional opera singer and she soon began to follow in her footsteps. By the age of 10, Taylor Swift began singing at a variation of local events, like fairs and contests. She began her career singing country music, but in her new album “1989” she decided to make a change to Pop Music. Taylor got a contract with Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Records after performing at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.
Taylor Swift’s fifth studio album “1989” has 13 tracks. The “1989” album sold more than one million copies in it’s opening week. In 2014 the album has sold more than 3.661 million copies and in 2015 more than 844,000 copies of the album were sold. The inspiration behind the 1989 album, was Taylor liked listening to 80’s pop because of the chances each of the artists was taking. The theme of the album is about the boundless possibilities in life. It had the vision of you being able to do what you want and be what you want.
The Album style is Pop Music. The song “Wildest Dreams” by Taylor Swift is about two people falling in love knowing that their relationship will never last. The song “Blank Space” is about how Taylor Swift finds herself in a relationship that has gone bad. The song “Shake It Off” is about how people are always going to have something to say, you have to just look past it and move on. The endless possibilities in life are represented through each song in this album. I would give the album as a whole an eight out of ten because I did enjoy the album I liked how there was a deeper meaning within each song. I also liked how Taylor was able to go from country to pop in the “1989” music album, making this album much different from anything else she has done. The meaning behind each song was about the lessons everyone learns throughout life. Life comes with many challenges we just have to learn how to deal with them and make the most of it. We have good and bad days, we just have to pick up our heads and forget about the past. Everyday is a new beginning of something better and brighter. There is more to life than what we see. Life is what we make it.
