Skyrim

Skyrim is one of the most immersive video games in the industries’ history. Released in 2011 by developer Bethesda Game Studios, the game spawned the consumption of hundreds of hours played between all player, paraphernalia, and an overused internet meme that has bled into our society. Set in the 201st year of the Fourth Era, the Northern Province of the continent Tamriel, Skyrim is being torn apart by a civil war between the rebellious Stormcloaks and the Imperials. The conflict which would eventually start the civil war began 30 years before it with a war between the Aldmeri Dominion and the Mede Empire: The Great War.. The Dominion (Elves) saw Talos, the Hero-God of Man, banned his worship simply because a mortal could not become divine. Talos, a king named Tiber Septim, sacrificed himself to defeat Mehrunes Dagon, the Daedric Prince of Destruction, during the Oblivion Crisis at the end of the 3rd Era. Eventually the Mede Empire surrendered by Signing the White Gold Concordat which prohibited the worship of Talos. By 4E 201, the Jarl of Windhelm, Ulfric Stormcloak rode to the High King of Skyrim, and killed him using a Thu’um, an ancient power of dragon speech which translates into an unrelenting force of concussive blasts. This schism is the final event in a prophecy foretold by the Elder Scrolls, which will lead to the return of dragons under Alduin, the Nordic god of Destruction, or colloquially known as the World Eater. With the sporadic appearance of Alduin, came the Dovahkiin, a Dragonborn that posses the ability to defeat dragons and Alduin.
Alduin isn’t the only threat endangering the world. There is another ancient prophecy revolving around another Elder Scroll. Instructions to obfuscation the sun include a divine bow and a blood sacrifice from the Daughter of Coldharbour. An ancient vampire clan wants to fulfill the prophecy, so that they may walk the world in an endless night, and dominate the world. As the number of vampiric attacks increase, a faction dedicated to prevent the vampires’ ambitious goal is reinstituted. The Dragonborn may either choose to join the vampire legion and grow more powerful than ever imaged, or help the Dawnguard prevent the domination of Tamriel by hunting down every last vampire.

But that is only a fraction of what Skyrim holds, for it takes more than just a few months to learn everything it holds.
