Whoopie Pies

Whoopie Pies are one of those desserts that are always awesome to have. The best part about whoopie pies is making them with your family. I don’t know about you but I love to help make whoopie pies. Getting to learn how to make something is always fun.

Whoopie Pies the thought of them use to make me happy but now I just get sad. It’s a reminder that my dad isnt here to make my family’s amazing Wicked Whoopie Pies. They were truly amazing too when I was younger me and my dad made them and we entered them in the Litchfield fair I came in 2 place. They were really good, I would have come in 1 place but my brother won first place, hey at least they were 2nd that has to mean something right???

Anyway my dad made the wicked whoopie Pies every year for 16 ½ years I say 16 ½ because I don’t know if he did before I was born. He could have made them for a lot longer but i’m just guessing. I remember him making them every winter for christmas. He didn’t get to make them In 2014 though. Who knew that in 2013 that winter was the last time he was going to make the wicked whoopie pies. The next year he got sick and passed away.

Me and My mom Tried to make them this year but they came out horribly wrong. The Filling had a Horrible texter it was like sand we sadly forgot to pick up crissco so We had to substitute it for Margarine. Not a great idea for those kind of whoopie Pies. Most whoopie Pies call for Margarine But not my Dads.

The recipe I am sharing is just a random whoopie pie recipe Mostly because I’m not allowed to share My Dad’s recipe because it’s a family recipe and I can only give it to family.

Who ever came up with whoopie pies is a genius. Like really how would you come up with that 2 halfs of a cake with a marshmallow filling. What!! Did some baker mistakenly make 2 small cakes that were too dry to eat plain but too small to make up a lot of frosting so they just whipped up some marshmallow with some butter and made a marshmallow filling? If that is really what happened that would be pretty funny!
