Warmth fills my face as I watch the boy walk closer to me. The music swarms the room as I sit waiting in the chair. Is he walking towards me? I whip my head around to look for someone else but there wasn’t anyone else. The tables around me are empty when I eye them. When I look back to the boy he is closer now and I don’t know what to do other then sit up straighter.
He is cute and and he might want to dance. Maybe i’d like to with him. It wouldn’t be a bad idea. Maybe it would be fun. It is a fast song so there shouldn’t be any harm in it. That’s when, suddenly, the song changes to a slow song and I cant help smile. Of course that would be my luck. Once again my face gets hot at the thought and I can’t shake it off.
The boy stops and for a minute I smile and start to get up, happily. The thought of a guy wanting to dance with me makes me happy.
“Hey, sorry, excuse me.”
He pushes past me and sits down at the table behind mine. In shock my eyes widen and my moth falls open. I took that wrong and I can’t help but laugh at my self. Turning, I look away quickly so he doesn’t see my astonishment. No need for him to see my embarrassment surfacing but it does not last long. Before it could affect me for too long I see a familiar face pop out of the crowd and smile at me.
The music changes once again to a fast and upbeat song as I hear. “Hey come dance!” Jenny yells out through the mob of people and the music.
Before I could stop myself I nod and run over to dance with her. “Thank you.” I lean in close and smile.
“Of course.” She giggles. “He would have been lucky to dance with you.”
“You saw that?” I blush slightly, but shes my best friend so I don’t mind.
“Yeah, I saw that..I don’t think anyone else did.”
“Good.” She read my mind and I giggle at the thought of my stupidity.
“You don’t need him anyways.” She reassures me. “You got me..” She winks and pulls me further into the crowd. “Lets get dancing.”
