Beast Mode

Making a living running people over sounds weird, but is just what Marshawn Lynch did. In the 2007 NFL draft, Marshawn Lynch was selected by the Buffalo Bills being the twelfth pick in the first round, agreeing to a 18.9 million dollar contract. Lynch’s first career game started on September 9th, where he collected ninety yards on forty gains. This wasn’t the last time Lynch would record a game like this. Lynch went on to gain one thousand one hundred and fifteen yards in his debut year, despite an ankle injury, causing him to miss three weeks.

Marshawn Lynch, not being the rookie anymore, did not have the season he was looking for. Just like the previous year Lynch suffered another injury, this time on his shoulder. At the end of the season the running back for the Buffalo Bills only recorded one thousand and thirty six yards rushing. In 2009 Lynch had been suspended by the NFL commissioner for a misdemeanor he had committed. Following this incident, he was able to start playing for the team again, until eventually being replaced by Fred Jackson. After being moved to second string, Lynch was only able to record four hundred and fifty rushing yards. In the NFL season in 2010 Marshawn Lynch would be traded to the Seattle Seahawks on October 5th. Starting late for the Seahawks he did not record over one thousand yards, but did acquire his famous nickname “Beast Mode”. Lynch was able to rush for over one thousand yards every year from seasons 2011 to 2014. Marshawn recorded his best year in 2014 running for one thousand five hundred and ninety yard. In the 2013 season, Marshawn Lynch was able to win a superbowl with his teammates, while also able to go back to back despite falling short to the New England Patriots 28-24. The attempted back to back failed, and Lynch played his final season in 2015 recording his lowest amount of rushing yards with four hundred and seventeen.

Lynch would eventually announce his retirement during super bowl 50 on february 7th 2016. Many people believe Marshawn retired early into his career. Despite his short career, fans often knew him as “Beast Mode” and his famous action of eating skittles during a game. The running back only played for 9 years, starting his career in 2007 and ending in 2015. Having such a short career, the number twenty four running back, Marshawn Lynch was still able to make name for himself in the prominent league of the NFL
