I never thought I would see the day where I would be dedicating all my time to cheering. At 3 years old I was a full time dancer. Doing ballet, tap, jazz, and hip- hop was how I spent my time staying busy and active. When I started kindergarten my mom helped me decide to try something new but, still do something like dance. As a kindergartner with the help and guidance of my parents I then started cheering. The first season I did was for basketball where I would go to games and cheer on the sideline, but I would get my spotlight at half time when we showed off our dance. Once I started cheering I knew it was the right thing for me. Life before cheering and dance was nothing I don’t remember life before cheering.
I have had many motivatiors throughout my cheering career. My parents have been a big help in guiding me and pushing me to stick with what I love. They have always been to all of my games and competitions and cheering me on. I never questioned or second guessed cheering until I reached my junior year in high school. I realized that being 15-16 years old I can help coach and help other people. When I was 10 years old I helped my mom coach because she was a certified coach so I junior coached her team. I felt that if I was coached it was more a challenge for me to help teach other people than the same old thing every year. It got to the point where cheering wasn’t challenging and I didn’t like to do it. I am currently an assistant cheerleading coach and I am loving it!
