Resillience

Resilience means so much to me because of the fact that resilience means the ability of continuing to do something even if your body is completely tired and you feel like you just can’t push past it. With the way things are in life you may not want to do something what so ever even if you truly need to do something and you’re not wanting to at all. You still have to do what needs to get done . When I was in football camp called Bog Brook we where all talked to about how football was a game of resilience and how we need to show resilience in everything we do, from that day on I never skipped a practice because I wanted to. I was always there even if I hated being there cause it was 90 degrees and I was wearing 20 pounds of gear and running 10 laps around the field, But I pushed through to prove that I have resilience and dedication to the team and that same attitude is what made me a starter on both sides of the field. Resilience is the ability to push past obstacles in you don’t think you could ever do but in the end if you work hard enough at it and just say to your self “I Got This” I personally know that just saying that boost my confidence a lot more than just saying ” no I don’t want to do this..” the game of football is all about awareness, awareness is more than any god given gift, Awareness helps everything in life.

Awareness makes life a little bit easier because of being able to think about what were to happen if you did something. You immediately think about the outcome for almost everything that you do. If football taught me anything in my lifetime it would be the ability to be resilient and socially and mentally aware. In the passage about resilience from an author named Laura, she talked about a horrific scene from a plane accident and how he had to help people stop bleeding and make sure everyone was okay. “Louie knew that he had to get Phil’s bleeding stopped”, This shows that he cared about Phil and that he wanted Phil to be okay and the way this resembles my passage is because when your a senior on a large team you want to be a motivating person and make sure that the team only gets stronger and not fall apart, what I mean by this is that on the football team the team needs to help each other and motivate each other and make everyone want to be around each other and enjoy the time there.

I can relate to this by doing the same thing as you I went to the bog brook training place, it was a long hot bus ride that we were not looking forward to, when getting off the bus we had to learn fast that respect goes a long way and that you’ll be taught resilience here at this training facility. We had to be able to do things that most people wouldn’t want to do getting up at 530-6 am in the morning to go jog and have early football practices were everybody is tired and we are going out on the practice field nailing each other back and forth and it takes a beating on your body and it shows you how to be resilient. this training camp lasted 1 week but felt like 3 weeks.

I feel the same way about it. I remember running those laps arounf the field. That was not fun or easy. Without that god given gift I dont thnk I would have been able to finish those laps. I can remember running those laps right next to you. I came over to help you finish as soon as I did.

I connect to this because in cheerleading we would run laps and do intense practices on saturday moring bright and early for three hours. My body wanted to give up and lay down on the gym grown however I had to have resilence to push through the practice because he had made me stronger and better.
