Don’t touch that Dial

I had woke up that Saturday morning like any other weekend I had my alarm set for 9am and another one set for 9:30am, so I don’t lose my weekend due to sleep. My window was wide open and the warm yet cool early fall air came in slowly. I heard the last of the morning birds sing and the crows begin to chat with each other. I got out of bed and I moved silently to the living room. I counted the number of cars in my driveway to zero and that could only mean one thing. I was home alone and suddenly it felt like Christmas morning. I went into the kitchen with a clever grin stretched a mile long and made some breakfast. I leaped back into my warm bed and turned on the TV.
I head back out into the living room a while later. The time is about 1:33pm and I find myself becoming bored and yet full of energy. I glance at the house phone and had the strangest thought. I picked it up and happily dialed 911. It rang for a second and I hung up. After I hit that button I felt such a rush! I was standing on mountain tops. I felt this sense of invincibility and as if I was immune to the laws and rules I needed to follow. That feeling of risk and fear made me feel as if I had just done the unthinkable. I then lost this feeling as soon as I got it and went about my day like normal.
I was walking back into the living room when a tall and when lean stranger in a blue shirt and black pants was standing in my house. It did not take me more then a second to realized that this was on officer that was no doubt here because of the call. My mother and father are in the living room with him asking why are you here. He then said he had gotten at call at this address. My heart fell to the floor and my breath had left my lungs. My hands were sweaty and I felt as if there were hundreds of eyes watching me. I had realized that I had made a huge mistake. I never should have called that number so careless.
