That’s a big boy

It was football season and we are at practice like most teams in the state. As practice started, we knew we had to get our heads in the game, the game coming up was against our biggest rivals. We have always hated this school for as long as I can remember. This team is never an easy team to play against. It takes mental toughness, perseverance, and we knew that nothing was going to come easy this game. Practice had to be tough, focused, we were determined to beat this team. We are pushing each other to get better and better so we can beat this team but the ending of the game wasn’t what we wanted. As we arrive to the game after a short and emotional bus ride we walk off the bus, put the pads and helmets on, and start our walk down the field.
We soon reach the field after a short walk. We form our lines and begin our warm ups. We are all pumped and ready to go, then we see the other team. They had some big kids nothing we were not used to but there was one kid. A big kid. This kid was a monster. Way taller and way stronger then anyone on the team. I have never seen a teenager as big as this man was. Well over six feet tall and way over 200 pounds. We started with the ball, knowing that this game was not going to be easy. The quarterback comes to the line, makes a play call, and snaps the ball. As a lineman you are supposed to block the man in front of you to gain control of the line of scrimmage. As I get ready to start the play, I see that large monster of a high schooler standing there in front on me and my teammates. He is so big that you just know he is super athletic and can do it all. I know for a fact that the man next me will not be able to block him by himself. As soon as the ball is snapped, I see the large man push his way right through the center and into the back field. He made is was through the center with no problem and broke the play up in a snap of a finger. As we are walking back to the huddle he stopped me asked if I could help him with the large man. Being a captain and a nice teammate I said yes. For the rest of the game I helped my teammate with ogre of a man. We didn’t win the game but I was able to help my friend when he needed it.
