First Year of lacrosse

In my life I have been known for being resilient and determined on things I do in life. To be resilient you have to keep your composer around difficult task to be able to complete it. My first year of ever playing the sport lacrosse, people said that I would not be able to start attack man and play it at a high varsity level. Half way through the season i started to grind on my stick skills getting better each day I felt determined and wasn’t going to be stop. This shows resilience because how I’m determined to earn my position and get the starting spot most people would have quit and let someone else get the position. but being resilient help me get my position and show what I can do.

My awareness around my situation and who I let work out with me, I needed people who like the grind that are resilient and could get out of tough situations if they were put in them, I need to be in control of my actions and how I did things I didn’t give up I had to tackle hard situations for example, running for 2 miles straight without stopping, I had to pace myself and to understand that if I gave up my potions was lost and I wasn’t going to be able to prove myself to the coaching staff, I pushed myself harder and harder each day. I had set backs I dropped the ball a lot, got out ran, had bad passes, I got pass these by control my emotions and just practicing harder and more each day.

My locus of control was that I can always run the fast break and run it successful. I thought I had control over the situations for example, if someone had a bad pass, I always believed that I had control over the outcome and that I was to blame. to be resilient you need to have strong solving skills that can help you out in tough situations that are in dire need. when you have the solving skills for example being able to run the X man who was the point man behind the net that set up goals and designed plays so that we could score, I needed to know how to set people up for goals and where they needed to be and where the pass needed to be.

When dealing with a problem on the filed the coaches offered support to the players so that we had a better ideas on how to attack the situation and how to show other people how to get around the problem for example, if somebody can’t get the ball out of their sticks to pass to other person but when a defender is on them, they need to know how to get out of it and need support on how to get away from the situation, which is just step out of the box and get in the alley way so you can continue to move the ball. Turnovers are a big part of the game and instead of looking like a victim of the situation you need to view yourself as a survivor and determined how to get around the problem so that we don’t come across this again. be resilient doesn’t mean you can’t ask others for help and in a tough situation. For example if a defender is on you ask your teammates for picks so that you can get away and start to move the ball with the offense.

Resilient is being able to get around problems that can be tough for others, its being able to bounce back for a set back that you’ve had in life, for me it was getting my position in lacrosse and keeping it for the season being clam in the face of disaster being able to solve problems during tough situations and getting around them so that others can begin to and not fail also while not giving up on yourself and your goals.
