Stupid Questions

I was having a very hard time trying to pick a topic for this blog post because I hear a lot of stupid questions all the time from other people including my friends. Not too long ago I was with my friend Derek and my other friend Josh. Derek was talking about his ford ranger and what he was going to have to do for work on it. Derek was on his second year of automotives at this time and he usually knows what he’s talking about better than Josh and I who do not really care for that kind of thing. I was driving my powerstroke at the time which is a diesel and while we were talking about his truck Josh asks Derek if he thinks he can change the spark plugs in my truck and Derek thought about it for a second and he said yeah I bet I could figure it out. As soon as he said that me and Josh started laughing because my truck does not have spark plugs it has glow plugs. I do not make fun of him for this because I do not want to ruin a friendship over something dumb like that. I also would not want it all to backfire on me if I were to ask him a stupid question.  In Derek’s defense he was not really paying attention to what Josh was saying he just kind of spit out an answer but it was still funny. This taught me to not answer a question when you were not really paying attention to the question or if you do not fully understand the question or you might make yourself look stupid in front of your friends and your other friend will write a blog post about you. In a world where this was not a stupid question diesel engines would use spark plugs and they would work completely different then they do now.

Another time I was with Josh and another one of my friends Clayton. I had just got my powerstroke and Josh and Clayton were checking out my truck. Clayton pointed out that it was totally straight piped and Josh was trying to be smart witch always goes bad for him and he looked under my truck and said it is not straight piped there are two bends in it. I did not really say to much but Clayton asked him if he even knew what straight piped meant and Josh answered saying yes it’s when the pipe goes straight from the motor all the way out. Obviously that is not correct my truck had no muffler or catalytic converter that is what you call straight piped. Clayton and I still bring this up every so often like when Josh makes fun of me for something I will remind him of that day and he will shut right up. This taught me that you can not expect everyone to know what might be basic information for you.

Just the other day at LRTC Chris asked me what one thousand times ten was and I said one hundred thousand not really thinking about it and I corrected myself right away but it did not matter he was giving me a wicked hard time about that already. He asked a couple other kids in my class the same question and they both got it wrong also and that made me feel better for that moment. He was telling everyone about how I got that question wrong and he thought it was the funniest thing in the world. I do not get what kept him going on about it because nobody seemed to care but him. This happened at the beginning of the lock down at LRTC and an hour and a half later when it was over he told our teacher about it. Every time I turned around he was telling someone new that story. He even told people on our LRTC bus two and a half hours after it happened and they did not even care. I find it funny how im the one who finished math at school and I help him with the math we do at LRTC but he still laughs at me every chance he gets. This taught me to not give people a hard time when they make a simple mistake because it gets really annoying. It’s alright to laugh a couple times but do not over do it.
