About a year and a half ago I wanted to go to my friends house to hang out. We use to do a lot of four wheeling so I decided to drive my wheeler there. At that time I was riding my 2006 trx250ex. Another friend of mine Josh showed up as well on his wheeler and we all ended up spending the night there. The next morning we decided to go to Josh’s house. It was raining the night before so the trails were kinda wet. My friend was trying to decide whether to take his wheeler or his bike he chose his wheeler because trails were wet. On the way back we were racing and I watched my friend drift around a corner so I went to do the same thing, I was doing fine until my rear wheels went into the grass and caught on a rock. My four wheeler threw me off and rolled a couple times and ended up about four feet in a tree. I was lucky I had my helmet on and I only had some cuts and bruises on my back and arms.
My friend could not believe I was not hurt he pulled my wheeler out of the tree and we find out that my tie rods were bent really bad so the front wheels were not even close to pointing straight. I was a little shaken up from the crash so I let him drive my wheeler back since he had to do wheelies the whole way. While I was driving my friends wheeler back my mind was going crazy I did not want to have to explain to my parents what happened and I was trying to figure out how I was going to get it home and fixed without them knowing. When we got to Josh’s house we find out my wheeler had a bent axle, both upper and lower ball joints were broke on the right side, and my tie rods were bent. My friends kind of thought it was funny that I crashed after they found out I was alright and I would get mad and say its not funny the parts are not cheap. I did not want anyone else to know what happened at that time because I was not happy about it so I made sure they were not going to tell anyone because I didn’t want to hear it from anybody. Since they are good friends the listened and nobody found out. We took my tie rods out and bent them as straight as we could and I loaded it up and went home. I went to Central Maine Power Sports and bought the parts. When I was there I told the guy I needed an axel and he asked what happened to I told him and he said man you need to go easier on that thing even though I was not beating on it it was just an accident. I had to spend almost two hundred dollars in parts and I didn’t want to talk about what happened to anyone at that time so I just left it in the garage until my parts showed up. After I bent the tie rods straight you could not tell it was broken unless you drove it then it was obvious so my parents never asked about it. When my parts came in I fixed it on my own with the help of youtube.
After it was all fixed and a little time passed I look back at that day and I kind of laugh at it. Like just the other day me and Josh drove by the spot I crashed my wheeler and he said remember when you crashed you wheeler right there and I said yes and laughed. That does not mean I am happy it happened of course I didn’t like spending two hundred dollars in parts but it would not make sense to be angry a year later so I laugh and that’s how I deal with it now. Still to this day that four wheeler wont do wheelies in a straight line it always pulls to the right even when I take some air out of the left tire.

It’s a good thing that you’re okay! ATV accidents can be scary and unpredictable sometimes. It’s a good thing you had a helmet on!
