As you all know, I’m Taylor Wotton. I’ve been at Oak Hill for 9 years. Some of you have known me since kindergarten and first grade, but others just from 6th grade on. I am here trying to get this commencement speech over with because it is required to graduate. So, I am going to list 10 things that I have learned and appreciated at Oak Hill in these past four years.
- There was NEVER a swimming pool in the weight room.
- Learning to avoid the huge mysterious carpet stains in the hallway
- Having Mr.Carney for Advisory AND Raider connection
- Mrs. Bourassa has always been a little crazy, but now I understand why
- Mr.Wright will refer to you as Zippy if he does not remember your name. Or even if he does.
- The school is either super cold or super hot. There is NEVER a happy medium.
- You will do 2 hours straight of membean at least once if your life.
- Creating new friendships with people I never would have thought would happen
- Having won 4 winter carnivals in a row.
- Also. do not. By any means. accidently break off a key on your laptop. Because tech world will charge you $50.00 for it.
These 10 things are just a few things that I will remember from my experience at Oak Hill High School. Even though I am ready to leave this place and not have to deal with any of the underclassmen ever again, I will miss walking the halls with my friends during lunch. Or visiting Mrs.Bourassa between periods. I will miss sitting in the windows, soaking up the sun, and always wishing we were aloud to go into the fishbowl. I am ready though. I am ready to see all my friends go their own way and live their life. Some people say high school is the best four years of your life, and I would say even though my years had their ups and downs, they were pretty good in my opinion.
