I could tell you that I didn’t learn anything in high school, But that would be a lie I did learn book smarts but mainly I learned a lot more about life lesson’s.The way I am going to put my high school life experiences is by writing a top ten list.
- Thank God for your blessings
Some of the best times I have experienced have been with my boyfriend, close friends and our families. When my brother was involved in a serious car accident in 2016, and left moderately disabled on his right side; I realized how blessed I was to have him and Thanked God for not taking him from us. Recently, I got sick and my Mom, Boyfriend and close friend stayed in the hospital with me for 6 days and nights, I Thank God, that He blessed me with them. Remember, God has a plan, Thank Him for your Blessings.
- Keep a calendar
I learned how important keeping a calendar is. Writing down appointments and due dates. There were a few times I missed doctors appoints or assignments because I did keep a calendar. Remember, write it down and use a calendar (set a reminder)..
- Be True to yourself… Never let anyone make you feel less than you are
I was bullied throughout high school; people would say I was fat or stupid and talk about me behind my back. It was very painful, but I realized, I cannot control what people do or say about me BUT, I can control what I think of myself and how I re-act. Remember, to be True to yourself, they can only hurt you if you let them.
- Keep up with points
Man…. When you start to get behind in points it’s very hard to catch up.. Do points as planned…. This might be more of a recommendation than a life lesson, but it sure felt like a life lesson at the time..
- Remember to check the gas in your car
Okay, I ran out of gas one to many times. Always remember to check your gas and avoid saying, “I can make it”, because standing by the side of the road is no fun.
- Have a morning routine
I never had a good morning routine, and what I learned was; I need it. Allow yourself enough time to get up, get ready and get organized; else – you’re late for school, forget your lap top and forget to put gas in your car.
- Never give up
There are times when I wanted to quit; not go back to school and deal with the unkind people or struggle through work. I did not give up, I kept going back. As you head out of High School, don’t give up on goals, if you fall down get back up and try again.
- It’s okay, not to know what you want to be when you grow up
I really thought I wanted to pursue nursing after high school, so I went to LRTC for Nursing and after working in a Hospital as a C N A I realized I did not want to a nurse. I know I want to be in the medical field, but I know I can figure it out as I go. Get an education; explore opportunities and learn through experience, we may never know what we want to be when we grow up…
- Never allow your Dad todare or bet your Boyfriend to do something…
Ice fishing last year, my Dad bet my Boyfriend to remove my boot and fill it with water. Guess what…He did it; my Dad paid him $20 bucks and I spend an hour drying my boot and sock by the fire. If you hear your Dad say “I’ll give you $20 bucks if you do Xxxx” RUN..
- I’d rather have 3 close friends I can trust, than many that I cannot
I always felt unpopular, and only had a few friends; we did not go to dances or cluster in the hall talking about other people, we went camping, four wheeling or hung out by a fire. If I ever needed any one my three friends they were ALWAYs there, they never made fun of me or talked about me. Remember, close, true friends are WAY better than a lot friends you cannot trust

I can relate to this because I too have learned some of the same things in high school that you had. I had never given up on my school work or anything else I had done while in high school and that is because I knew I could do it.
