Mistakes Of The Go Cart

My grandfather is known for all of his antique cars and race cars, always having something to do with them, but he still always has time for family. In his free time he takes all of the grandkids and we get to have fun of our own also. We get to play in the cars but we get to drive around the go carts, 3 wheelers and 4 wheeler.
Over a summer 3 out of 5 of us kids spent the night at my grandparents house for the weekend; my two younger siblings and I. My brother was going through this phase where he thought he was a superhero, he would wear his cape my aunt made him and glow stick goggles taped to his face with paper arm cuffs.
It was my sister and I’s turn to drive the go-cart, so my brother sat and waited his turn with my grandfather and his buddies in the driveway. My sister and I were getting ready to pass them in the driveway. Then all of a sudden my brother came out of no where and superhero dove in front of the moving go-cart, causing us to run him over. Our grandfather and his buddies came quickly running over to help, while my sister and I sat shocked. My brother kept yelling “I thought they were a mile away!!”. We learned not to jump in front of the moving go-cart and to look around when siblings are driving it because things can go downhill very fast.
Our grandfather quickly brought my brother into the house to see our grandmother so we could tell her what happened. No bones were broken, he only had scratches
on his arms and a little on his legs.
  • To this day still we laugh about the accident and my brothers nickname he got out of it, “speed bump”. Lesson learned; never jump in front of a moving vehicle or go-cart of any sort when you think they are a mile away, because they aren’t always that far away. Now we don’t have to go a certain speed or wear our little bike helmets when we ride, just our seat belts.
