April 2015 we boarded our very first cruise ship. With that trouble was always around the corner when it was just my grandfather and I. This time it started as just an innocent game. Until everything shattered and fell to the floor, but just seconds later everything changed, and looks were exchanged, but the fun did not end here.
It was my grandfather and I sitting up in the lido deck of the Carnival Sunshine Cruise Ship with my mom, grandmother, and my two brothers. It was just another day on our cruise, until my grandfather and I got ourselves into some mischief. We did not think about the wrongs at the times, just all the right reasons to do so!
It all started when my grandfather asked me “Have you ever played a game using the salt and pepper shakers?” Of course my answer was “no..” but then that is when all the fun started! We were sitting up on the 9th deck, inside, no one was around. Then the game started and we were sliding the pepper shaker across the table in seconds. The objective was to not let it hang off the table or fall to the floor. We were doing so well, so we picked up the speed! BUT! That’s when it all ended…
As we continued to play we felt the energy rush to us, we put some power into the slide. That lasted a couple of times. It reached me, came so fast it fell off the table and on to the floor. My grandfather and I both looked to the floor and my mouth drops open and quickly looks at my mom and my grandmother.. As my grandmother was not happy with my grandfather and I my mom could not help my smile and try not to laugh, but me and my grandfather thought that it was so funny at the moment. Of course that was till a worker walked by and we had to act like everything was cool. We had no way to pick up the mess we made, the only choice we could think of was to just leave it there. Which we did.
From this horrible yet funny memory that will always be remembered I learned to never slide the salt and pepper shakers across the table. I learned to never play with the salt and pepper shakers again. I do know that there will still be more mistakes to learn from as our time sailing the sea is not over.. To be continued on April 7-14 2019!
