Opinion Essays Are The Best!

When I was in Gov’t and Politics, I was happy to do an essay on dog fighting. Only because, I hate people that use dogs for any fighting. When I was typing the essay, I learned about so many other things about the dogs they use. Even though, people mostly use pitbulls for dog fighting. Reading everything only on that breed, it was something I didn’t like. The person that was sitting next to me in class, she looked over and asked me a question about the essay. “What are you doing for an essay?”
I looked over at her, “I’m doing it on dog fighting, since I have a strong opinion about dog fighting.” I said to her, she nodded to what I was saying. When I got all the information for the essay, I started to look at other things that happened before or even after a dog fight. I was going to do something related for this for capstone, but I decided to change it. With the information I got about this paper, I was typing the information on the document and I wanted to learn more about it. Even typing more information on the document for the paper, I still went on google and searched more things. Especially since I’m a big dog person, I wanted to make sure that I was getting enough information and that it wasn’t information that would make a paragraph not interesting. When I got into this class, I never thought about doing an essay I could choose the topic. I was happy that I could and this topic I always had a strong opinion on it.
When I was done with the paper, I was happy with how it was. I never understood why people would do this to any dog, even though all I would hear on the news would be mostly pitbulls being used. I never really thought about what else would be happening during this, “Why do people have to use pitbulls or any dog for this?” I would ask myself everytime I heard something about it. When I had the class again, I got asked questions about the essay. Only because I didn’t explain everything, once I got asked questions. I would answer them better than I did in the essay, cause I can type what I want to say. Only because sometimes I forget it. I would say everything I wanted to say in the essay to the questions. Even though, I would be in class researching and researching about the topic and knowing more about the topic.
I never wanted to stop researching this topic and it got me to do more on pitbulls and learn more about them. I wanted to learn more since they are my favorite breed. After doing that paper, I knew more things on this and every time I see someone using pitbulls for this. It makes me mad that they do this, being able to make a paper on it and let out some anger on it. This helped me learn more things about pitbulls and also somethings on why people do it and where it started. I never knew any of this, until I had Gov’t and Politics.

I believe that essay where I get chose the topic are the best too. Getting to choose what I want to learn about to better because I want the essay to be the best. I can also relate to the dog fighting. I hate that there are people out there using dogs just to get money. Its is also great that you are learning about care about and trying to spend to other people so they know what going it the situation. Write the essay might help change other people opinions if they ever read it.
I agree that school work and writing is so much easier and way more fun when you are interested and passionate about the topic. I think it is awesome that you are interested in this topic and are standing up and educating yourself about what you believe in!
Shenderson – I actually have a pitbull named Paige at my mothers. She is super old, but we got her when she was a couple years old because the guy who had her said she was “too nice” so we could only assume she was going to be used for fighting, and was going to be killed because she refused to fight and just wanted to love everything. She ended up actually getting loose and got hit, getting beat up pretty bad from the car. The neighbor told my father that she was better off dead because she was a pitbull and that was all. We spent tons of money on her getting better and seeing my poor loving dog hop around with stitches covering her and casts on her legs made me realize how horrible people stereotype the dogs. They are loving, and would do nothing to hurt them, and yet these people hate on them so much. I feel where you are coming from it sickens me people cannot look at the dogs for their personalities, not their breeds.
Opinion Essays are deeply appreciated by many and I agree that they are probably one of the best parts of school. Lets us express and research what we have interest in or strong opinions on. Right along with this topic. Hits right at home with having a pit bull and all. Mine is sweet and kind and to know people put these dog against other dogs to fight till one is severely injured or even dead is sickening and just cruel. But this document was written nicely. Enjoyed the read.
