The Spark That Leads to The Future

Knowledge much like a fire, can grow exponentially due to even the smallest spark. This is true especially when you are very interested and invested in a certain topic or subject in school. This spark can lead to great amounts of success in your future and inspire you to make big decisions which could lead to your future career. There have been a few subjects in school that have sparked my interest in things such as art and pharmacy.

In high school one of the biggest fires that was lit within me was art. After taking my first semester of Art I was very intrigued. I had drawn before taking this art class, mainly tracing, and so I did not know what I was capable of creating. This class mainly consisted of drawing still lives of things such as blocks, pipes and cereal boxes. Once this class was over I decided I wanted to keep pursuing Art. My next semester of art was much more intriguing and fun, we began the class by drawing portraits. I did not think I would be able to create a realistic enough portrait as I had never done anything like this before. This project is the one that completely sparked my fire and kept me interested in art. Once I had completed this drawing I realized my capabilities with drawing. I became so proud of my creations within this class that I began to try drawing even more realistic portraits at home. Every time that I would create a new piece of work I would show it off to anyone that I could because of how proud I was.

Similar to when I took my art class, when I took chemistry class during my junior year it was the spark that has led to the lighting of a bonfire within me. This class interested me so much to the point where it helped me decide where I want to go to college and what I want to do in my future. This experience gave me a lot of interest in pharmacy because of the different labs we did. These labs consisted of things such as mixing substances and working with chemicals. This made me think of the possibilities of becoming a pharmacist in the future. After realizing the possible outcomes that could come from having the knowledge of chemistry, I decided that I wanted to apply to go to the University of New England for Pharmacy. This class is the one class from high school that is going to have a long lasting impact on my life throughout my future.

Sometimes you can light the biggest fire with even the smallest spark. This is exactly what happened to me when I began taking art class in high school. It also happened to me when I took chemistry class and it has led to my decision on what I want to go to college for. Although many people say that they do not think that high school classes matter, as long as you are interested in the topics in the class it can be one of the most beneficial experiences of your life because it can show you what you may want to do in your future.

Art is such an amazing class! I was the same way, I practiced for the fun of it and taking the class only made my liking for art grow more. Chemistry is an amazing class also. The fact that your high school classes helped in your decision making for college is amazing!

These must have been great experiences for you. Just reading how passionate you are for the subjects is amazing. It is also really cool to read how you were able to figure out what you want to do for a career through a subject in school.

It was very interesting to read how passionate you were about each of these subjects. I really liked how you used the little spark in order to describe your high school classes, which then lead you into your fire; being a better artist and coming to realize what you want to do with your life. University of Maine New England is a fantastic school, and I believe you will do great there! my sister also attends UNE, and right now is in grad school for Pharmacy. I have heard many stories about the difficult road and classes as a pharmacist, but as long as you love the subject you’ll never get bored. For someone who is very interested in pharmacy, the challenges will only be more fun for you.

I was happy to see that your spark was something you could share with other people. Not only show them but being proud of your own work. This shows that you are confident and when that happens it shows it is something you can do to make you happy.

Thanks for sharing your experience on how you found your passion for something you love to do. Art and Pharmacy are two very interesting and different things, but theirs absolutely nothing wrong with being a jack of all trades. Wonderful analogy that you carried through and implied to the whole paper, really liked the comparing of passion to the spark and fire. Wonderful.

I like to see you so involved in something you are good at. I personally liked your reaction when you had to show me what you drew in class. Your face lit up with so much happiness and you were pleased with everything you have every done. I’m glad I got to see the pictures and compliment you and the backstory on why you wanted to draw that picture.
