Education is very important to me, especially the criminal justice class I take at Lewiston Regional Technical Center. The Criminal Justice class I take is very important to me because I have learned so much from it, the class has also given me many great opportunities to explore Criminal Justice. The class has helped me and influenced me on what I want to do in the future. I have learned so many helpful skills that will help me when I am in a Criminal Justice job. We are taught how to do drill, through drill we learn how to work together and communicate as a team which is very important in any criminal justice job. We also learned 10 codes which are very important, because they are used every day by police and dispatchers. It will help in the future if I learn these skill early on. We also learn from our mistakes and mistakes from people in criminal justice jobs. It is important to learn from their mistakes so we do not make the same mistakes in the future. This class has given me many opportunities to further learn about Criminal Justice. The greatest opportunity I was given was being able to go to Skills USA, that is when my fire lit. Going to Skills USA showed me that I can do a lot more than what I thought I could. Skills USA is a statewide competition, where you compete against other schools and their students. When I was chosen to go to the competition it showed me that I am good at this topic, and I should keep going. I competed in the Criminal Justice Competition. I might have not done as well as I wanted, but I learned so much from it and met new people and made some more friends. This class has helped me a lot in helping me to decide what job I want to pursue in the future. During the school year we have had a lot of guest speakers from a job in law enforcement. This gives us an opportunity to ask questions about their job and find out more about their profession. As a class we have on field trips and community service opportunities at places such as Androscoggin County Jail and Lewiston District Court. By going to these it shows us more in depth what they do and the environment that they work in. The class as helped me expand on my education because the class gave me 6 college credits. With the six college credits I have applied to Central Maine Community College, I am able to skip the Intro To Criminal Justice class. In conclusion, education is very important to me, especially my Criminal Justice class. This class has helped so much by helping me prepare for the future, especially in college. This class has helped me decide what I want to do in the future. If I never took this class I don’t know what would have lit my fire.

I’m happy that you found something you enjoy. The hardest thing to do in life is something that you want to do as a full-time career which it seems like you have found something that could possibly become something like that. For me it is welding I love it and now I have a plan after high school
I’m so glad that you are enjoying your law enforcement class especially since it is something that you want to pursue throughout your future. Your story reminds me a lot of my experience through my science classes in high school. These classes have helped me, similar to you, to figure out what I want to pursue for a career in my future which is Pharmacy. I hope you continue to pursue law enforcement and it is better than your experience being pepper sprayed.
It’s awesome to see you’ve found a true passion for criminal justice. To hear how these early classes have really prepared and educated you while intriguing you even more in the career by lighting a fire is inspiring. Awesome job getting ahead and taking advantage of an opportunity you knew would help in the future and present. Well done, great work.
That’s so cool how you have found what you want to do for a career and how much you care about criminal justice. That class sounds fun and a great experience to get an early understanding on what it’s really like.
I hope you can work both jobs. Become the manager of Hannah ford and can work within the prison you wanted to for those five years and making a real living for yourself. I’m glad you found it within high school and become someone and something like you want to be.
You are lucky to have gotten the opportunity to get experience during your high school years. You were able to figure out early one what you want to do in life. That is something a lot of people have trouble with. It is also so cool you got to go to Skills USA and compete, allowing you to get out of your comfort zone and meet new people.
