My senior capstone project was the “fire” to my education because it was something that really made me keep my future in mind. My capstone project gave me great insight on if I would want to do this profession after graduation. Getting a certificate for Phlebotomy is my goal, and I realized after the job shadow that I would really like to follow through with the profession. Job shadowing Phlebotomy as Central Maine Medical Center was the fire to my future.
Fire is just another word for fuel of where things start at. My future learning will be at Central Maine Community College, but I believe that I should be able to get my certificate in a matter of less then eight weeks. When I started off my Capstone project I wasn’t sure what I really wanted to do. It was hard to find a job that I could have easy access too in the medical field that I could really prove my learning with. When I choose to do a job shadow, It made me think of Phlebotomy and Physical Therapy because I am not a school type of person.
Being given a choice on what I wanted to learn about was the best part for me because I have never done something like that, that would benefit me. This inspired me because it made me excited on graduating and becoming an adult on my own. Setting the job shadow up was something I wasn’t comfortable at, and learning more about what my future career might be.
Inspiration upon working after graduation is a huge part of becoming a adult. You have to be passionate about what you want to do and I believe that this Capstone project is really something that enjoyed doing no matter how much paperwork and time was put into it. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to be inspired by my teacher to count on me to take responsibility and commit my mind on the job I would like.
My decision after the fire to my inspiration was to go to school at Central Maine Community College for my certificate on Phlebotomy and get a good job in a hospital. Getting the change of communicating with people at my future job was the best thing I could have done. I went for exactly five hours but I was given enough time to build a relationship with the women I job shadowed for most of the day. I believe if I work hard enough I can get to where I need to be and closely after the year of 2020 I should be making good money and moving forward to my future career of a CNA. Capstone was really the “fire” to my future.

I love this! I connect with this, I also found my fire for learning through my capstone project. I have always loved art and photography and building a project on that topic has driven me to go to college for it.
I think it’s great how your senior project helped inspire you to get the certification. For some it takes until after graduation to find out what they want to do with their lives.
