Education has not come easy to me probably like most people. I have always struggled writing essays just because usually the teachers have a certain few things you need to write about, and I am bad a decision making so that makes it harder for me. But this year I got to pick whatever wanted to write a 5 page essay on in my government and politics class. Earlier in this school year. I wrote my paper on a topic that really has an impact on my life, and it was something I wanted to learn more because it was a relative subject in my busy life of football. My topic was CTE, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. And this is a brain injury that people can get from repetitive hits to the head that causes the brain to shake. I wanted to write about this because I have played football all my life for 13 years now and athletes that have played heavy contact sports for a significant amount of time. I still remember everything that I researched about Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy today. This essay I wrote took a lot of research and time to plan but once I did start to write it took no time at all. Just because I was excited to share the information I had with my teacher. I was able to write a lot of information just on the one topic. And that essay was the longest essay that I have written so far in school. I also did fairly good on it too with getting about an 86 or so I do not exactly remember. But even with the blog post, it has taken me a while just to write this about me writing. But that was just one of the couple times education has come easy for me. Another time education has come easy was this year when I had done my senior project on alopecia. I decided to set up a hair fundraiser to give to CWHL children with hair loss. I can personally connect to this topic because I have alopecia and I only knew a little bit about it. Since my alopecia has come back again but this time really bad I decided to make awareness of it and try not to be shy about it anymore. I learned a lot of things and how to set up Gofundme’s and fundraisers and learned about traveling across the country and ways to save money. And I learned more about public speaking because I was on the news and radio so I had to learn how to present myself well.

That’s great that you found a topic you were excited to write about, and it is something you could use to help educate others. Everyone struggles with their education in some way, it’s okay! Also raising awareness on alopecia is very brave of you. You should be proud!
