The Question

This story takes place in the summer going into my freshman year I had just got a brand new PS4 from my mom and dad. It was so exciting having a brand new console to consume the time of the hot summer days. One Problem I only had one game and after awhile I got sick of it so I asked my mom if she would take me to Walmart to get a new game. She said yes so I had ran up to my room and took my money that I had been saving up and threw on my shoes and out the door I went with my mom to go get my game. We get in the car and we are off all I can think about is what game I want so many options talking my mom’s ear off of how excited I was telling her about all my options.

As we arrive to the store I can barely contain myself my mom parks the car and we get out. We are walking in the store the excitement is building up my moms telling me to “slow down”. As we enter the store she tells me she needed to go get some stuff she needed and that to call her when im done. Without hesitation I make my dash to the back of the store where the games were I get there and i’m looking through the glass case scanning up and down wondering which game I want to play for countless hours. I finally made my decision I wanted the new 2k game there was only one left the games are locked in a glass case so I needed a worker but there was only one working in the electronics section at the time. I had no problem finding him because I could here the lady that was obviously not having a great day yelling at him for some reason. Im hesitant to go over but I do im standing a ways away making my way over this lady still yelling and does not seem to be stopping anytime. As I get to the worker I stand there awkwardly as she is still waiting to ask my question my excitement is out of the roof but my nerves are up there too with this lady yelling I just want to get my game but I don’t want to interrupt her and make her more mad. She seems to be calming down at least I had thought as she stopped for a second I had said “excuse me sir would you be able to help m–” before I’m even done asking my question this lady snaps at me and says in a very snotty and rude tone “excuse me I’m not done here” nervously I had said “Sorry I was just trying to ask a question I thought you were done” she said “Yup whatever” then worker the worker told me, “I’ll have someone else help you out im busy with this lady” so nervous after this lady snapping at me I had backed up away from her going over to the games to wait before she ripped my head off. Then another worker came over and helped me with acquiring my game this worker told me he was sorry for the wait, he handed me the final copy of the game, my heart was filled with joy as I dash to the front to pay for it I put it on the cash register money in hand. I checkout and call my mom telling her I had got it she said ok I waited just dreaming of how much i’m going to play the game. But the next thing I knew there the lady was walking by giving me a nasty look as she exits the story.

As we left the store I told my mom all about what had happened on the car ride home. I told her all about how nervous I was to ask the man my question to help me get my game and that I wasn’t trying to be rude, I thought the lady was done but I guess she wasn’t and she then snapped at me for interrupting her. We arrive home and I finally get to play the game I pop it in my PS4 counting down the minutes as it downloads. The finally the download is complete and this would be my sole purpose for the next week playing for hours on end.
