This was a Friday me and my friend Ausborn has been going to Aero Air Trampoline Park for a while now. We went just about every Friday. We arrived at Aero Air Trampoline Park around seven o’clock and had some fun doing some flips and playing dodgeball with some random people chucking the ball as hard we could. The time was between eight and nine at night, I wanted to try something new. I told Ausborn that I wanted to try to do a double backflip. I was scared to do it. These trampolines had no bounce whatsoever. So I wind up to do the double backflip. I start off by running and going a back handspring to get momentum. I then to proceed to do the double backflip. I untuck early landing on my neck. Me and Ausborn start laughing so hard to the point where we are crying. At this point, I can’t move my neck so I said that “I’m done the flipping”. Ausborn agrees as he is still laughing. After that, I didn’t attempt the double backflip. Every once in a while we bring it up to each other still laughing at that moment.
At the beginning of sophomore year, I wanted to be able to do a backflip. So I kept going to Aero Air Trampoline Park with Ausborn to practice on the trampolines because I already knew how to do one on the trampoline. Instead of jumping a few times on the trampoline to do a backflip I just jumped once this time and I landed the backflip. So I thought if I can do it on the trampoline I can do it on the ground. So then I went to the foam pit and did some in there my rotation and my jump was good. So then Ausborn says “you got this do it on the mat”. I then get out of the foam pit and get ready to do it on the ground. I then jump and mid rotate get scared and I don’t complete my rotation. I landed right on my stomach, Ausborn starts laughing so I start laughing. I said how about you give it a try as he is still laughing. He says no and I say “that’s what I thought”. A couple more weeks of practicing I try it again but this time in school on the mats in the gym. I then get motivation from Ausborn and AJ. I then just get ready to do it full sending it without holding back. I did it, I landed my backflip perfectly. Ausborn and AJ thought it was so cool. Now I can do anytime anywhere but Ausborn still brings up that time where I landed on my stomach we still laugh.
A couple of weeks ago me and my girlfriend went out to eat. We went to Lotus Restaurant. We got our food and there were people sitting beside us and it was someone’s birthday. They have a cake and the waitress is holding the cake, she lights the candle and they start to sing happy birthday. The waitress then blows out the candle on an accident in the middle of singing happy birthday. Everyone that was singing happy birthday stops singing. They then relight the candle then start singing happy birthday but fewer people are singing this time and their tone is low. My girlfriend’s mom says “That was really sad”. Me and my girlfriend start laughing and so does her mom. After that, I was being funny so every time my girlfriend drank or ate something I would say yum. She starts to laugh so I laugh with her and her mom and her brother are confused. Then her brother put soy sauce in my drink without me knowing. He has the best poker face so I didn’t know what he did. I take a sip of it and I spit it back into the cup, he starts to laugh. I then do it to my girlfriend but instead of soy sauce, I put salt. So as she was drinking it I put the salt in it. I start laughing and she does too.
These stories about laughter have taught me that everyone has an inside joke with one or many people that you only get no anyone. If it’s your best friend and you guys start laughing no one else is laughing but you two. So people will ask you what’s so funny, then you explain then they start to laugh but not as much as you because you and your best friend are the only ones who really get it. This also can help people understand that everyone has “their people” like friends. It’s as if someone is talking about you right next to you whispering, you don’t know what they are talking about only they do. It’s kind of like how people say the expression “secrets don’t make friends” it’s like when you are laughing someone else wants to know what they are laughing at. I’ve learned that people will ask questions and laugh about something that you are oblivious to.
