The one time my question wasn’t answered

This is about the time I asked a question but got no response. Let’s take it back a few days ago to the 5th of January 2020, I was babysitting a 2 year-old girl. Usually when I go over to babysit its right after I get out of work and she’s usually napping. But lately she’s been napping but cries when I get there. I wonder how she knows I’m there sometimes. Anyways, We kinda just hangout she likes when we paint so she can paint pictures for her mom and dad. She also loves to play with the play-doh set she got for Christmas and in her little play house. Although this time was different. She did not want to play in her room, she did not want to be alone. I wondered why but she was not acting hurt or sick. So we just watched some movies and she snuggles with my friend on the couch waiting for her mom to get him around 8 to 9. Around 4:45 I started cooking her dinner which was some chicken tenders and mashed potatoes, which she loved.

She ate all her food and drank all her milk which she never really does, I noticed at that moment that something weird had occurred with her. Something just wasn’t right. I just could not put my finger on it. So I just went on with the night she decided to watch frosty the snowman so we did. Finally here’s where it all went down, 7:30 rolled around and she started pointing at a little passage door they have saying “uh oh ghost”. I was afraid but she’s supposed to go to bed at that time. Well the good news is she just goes in her room you tuck her in turn out the lights and she goes to sleep, but this time she did not. So I went to put her in bed and when I left she was quiet but then started talking to herself, I couldn’t quite make out what she was saying so I just continued to watch tv.

Then she starts yelling the words in which I never thought I would hear, “I need help!” over and over again. I was in complete shock, I had no idea what was going on. So me being afraid of what might be in there told my friend to go. As my friend got up they decided to video to see what’s happening. But when we opened the door to see if she was alright there was nothing, just her. When I asked her repeatedly what was wrong she did not say a word she just looked at me, that lasted for 10 minutes. Finally, I asked her to come sit with me till her mom got home. We went into the living room and watched the video to see if we could see anything. Well we saw something run across her room away from her bed. I was afraid at that time. Although it was time for my friend to leave.

So after my friend left I decided lets just watch another movie and wait for her mom, so we did.But then I heard a chair being dragged across the kitchen floor, so we went to see plus she wanted her stuffed animal from her room, and I could not believe my eyes. I saw something I wish I never saw the kitchen chair was pulled into the middle of the floor. My body automatically grew cold, I got so queasy. She came running out of her room begging me to pick her up which she only does when she’s afraid. I was terrified, I had no idea how to cope with what just happened so I pushed the chair back under the table and waited for her mom. Then I received a text, her mom is going to be late. I thought to myself what a terrible time but it’s really not her fault.

So I just continued to watch a movie with her. Finally, her mom arrived home and it was time for me to go back home. So I said goodbye and headed out the door. This question of asking the little one what happened and why she needed help still travels through my mind everyday and night. What did she need, did she just want attention? What did she see, was it a ghost ? I wonder what happened to her that made her so afraid and if me going to her room made whatever it was mad. I will never know the answers to my questions, which is why I regret asking what had happened to her.
