Don’t Take Time For Granted

In life you only get so much time. In my 4 years of high school I’ve learned that you can’t take anything for granted especially time. All me and my friends would talk about is how we would “win states” or how we were the “underdogs”. now we reminisce and think of “what could have been”. With this COVID outbreak we have been confined to limited sports, contact, school, and even been confined to limited time to live my life. Senior year was supposed to be my year for sports, my year for a social life, and my year for fun, but sadly there is nothing I can do now. Something that I, and many of my teammates regret over the years is not lifting as much as we should have. For me I went 2-3 times a week which is kind of the bare minimum for how much you should be going. But the weight room is one thing that leaves your stress outside the door. When you get into the weight room it’s just you, your mind, and the weights. As a football player coach Doucette taught me that the weight room is where champions are made and without Coach Doucettes advice I wouldn’t be who I am today… I guess what I’m trying to say is that you need to take advantage of everything because you never know what you have until it is gone.

When we’re kids the world is so new to us and there is so much to learn but we feel like we have so much time. Just like when we were little freshmen wandering the halls living our life day by day and having fun, but life ultimately gets more serious and there are certain things that we have to let go of. Time is a weird concept. It’s here right now but it has already passed but there is still more to come. Make the most of your time and don’t let it pass you by. I wish I had been to the weight room and worked harder and spent my time differently as a high schooler and high school is the best time of your life (from what I’ve heard from other people). But mistakes were mad and you can’t dwell on the past.
