Lots of patience

Winter is my least favorite time of year. Winter is cold, snowy, icy, and not pleasant whatsoever. While my favorite time of year is summer since it’s warm, there’s lots to do, and sunny. I personally am not a fan of the cold whatsoever. I in fact despise it. I will refuse to leave the house at all costs. Instead once winter starts, it’s the beginning of  me getting the heaters out and patiently waiting for summer to come back. According to the prompt, a patient person is one who, “[is] understanding and tolerant. A patient person experiences difficulties without complaining” (www.revisionassistant.com). Just like a patient person, I don’t complain about the difficult times, I freely let them pass by. For instance, once winter arrives I have to patiently wait for summer to arrive once again. 

In the winter, there’s many ways to let time fly by. For example, this time of year is the start of my movie binging era since I never watch TV in the summer.  Since there’s so many options out there I typically resort to the  Kardashians. Winter is my hibernation time because I will never leave the house unless it’s work or taking out the trash. The family will somehow have a blast sledding, but I refuse to leave the house due to the frigid cold. With all this free time I can watch a couple of series.

Last winter I picked up a second job to occupy myself at Dunkin Donuts. At both Dunkin and Walmart I can work making money letting the cold season pass by. At these jobs I’m able to enjoy life inside without ever having to step outside risking meeting the freezing cold. Since work takes up forty hours of my week it’s great since it keeps me busy and on my toes. Maybe I’ll forget the cold and block out all that negative condemnation. With these distractions it helped time pass much quicker and kept me occupied. That’s what mainly made me patient for summer to come. 

Before I knew it, summer had arrived and I was able to finally unplug from my devices and enjoy life outside. I’m now able to sit in the sun and go for a swim. I may plan events with friends or drive to Portland to go for a shopping spree. During this time I’m able to drop a job in the meantime until the next time winter arrives. But as soon as winter comes back, it’s back to life indoors.
