Media in the Now

Social media is the most widely used form of entertainment for people today. While the concept of connecting with others is widely supported it has also been frowned upon for spreading false information.

While living in the generation and growing up with innovations and internet available to be the media has always been popular. I personally have good and bad experiences with it but continue to use platforms nonetheless. I do continue to support it, and while the media leads to lies, and false advertising it continues to help spread the word and publicize current events as long as you’re viewing reliable sources.

Meanwhile, some see the media as corrupt and a platform used to dismay others and spread false information. People like celebrities on the media have been shown to edit photos and create a sense of false advertising for younger generations. This has been seen to lead to self-image issues and continue to affect those throughout their lives.

In conclusion, as the internet has its cons but as a way of communication, the information it provides, and the support it can give making it easy to donate to people who need it I see trumps the cons. Any form of social media can be used for good no matter what it was intended for and as long as it is not being taken advantage of, will continue to do so.
