A Stressful Mistake

One of my biggest mistakes or bad habits is my tendency to procrastinate. This has been an issue that has affected me throughout most of my high school years and still does to an extent. But the time that my procrastination was the worse was during my sophomore year of high school, especially towards the end of the year when we went online only. I had already had issues with it when we were in person for certain classes like the fact I was being slow with writing my persuasive essay which we had started working on. I also had been needing to fix a math test before we went online which I hadn’t done when we were in school because I was procrastinating doing it.

When we went online they didn’t assign any work for a few weeks because at that point everyone thought it was going to be like a week-long snow day. But instead of using the time to get caught up, I instead just played video games with my friends and didn’t get caught all the way up to where I should have been at. But after the teachers and admin had figured out that this wasn’t a temporary thing they started giving out work which I wouldn’t do much of and instead sit on my phone and play on that and then go and talk and play games with my friends. So after a few weeks of doing this, I was pretty caught up with everything except for math and English my game design class had concluded very early into the year because the teacher didn’t know what to do. My final class global studies had just finished and with the last couple of weeks of school coming up I started to panic. I had to fix a math test and do around 10-15 assignments that needed to be done to pass as well as the persuasive essay and Membean I needed to do.

So as the last couple weeks come winding down I did an hour plus of Membean a day which was horrible because I hate doing Membean normally so I was miserable the whole time. I had to also write my persuasive essay over the course of 3-5 days so that I could present it to the class which the essay is probably one of the best things I’ve written ever. Now on to the math work, I did all of the math over the course of about 5 hours, and then when the class met again I did my test and passed it easily because I was able to use my book during it. After I had finished all the work It was like a massive weight was lifted from my shoulders and I was so happy and after that, I never procrastinated to that degree ever again.
