Mistakes Cost you Money

In the year of 2020, a young boy named Mike set out to find a good, solid, and reliable truck. In the search for this truck he stumbled upon a 2004 Chevrolet 1500. This truck was a very solid truck with 189,000 miles on it. The motor in it was a 5.3 liter 8 cylinder engine, which is one of Chevrolet’s best engines. The transmission in it is known as a 4l60e which is not the best transmission to put up to that nice of a motor. So eventually Mike got this truck and paid $5,300 for it. At first when he got it he drove it very delicately until one day when it was rainy and he was on a road not busy at all. Mike decides that this truck would be great at doing burnouts. So he puts one foot slightly on the break pedal and hard on the gas pedal, the front tires lock up and the rear tires start spinning. So after this point he started to do more and more burnouts, some were quite long and some were just short little tire squeals. This type of driving ended up costing him around $700 later on in his life because he ends up blowing his transmission, ruining all his tires, and ends up ruining one wheel.

But before he ended up spending all this money, Mike kept on driving this truck because he didn’t really have another vehicle to drive. So while he drove his truck he also did other things than just burning out. Sometimes he would just get on the accelerator very hard and the transmission would slip and not go anywhere. Many times while normal driving with friends he would also go on back dirt roads and take this truck off-roading, even though he needed this truck to drive home wherever he went. So on a nice spring day, Mike was up in Cornville, Maine on some dirt roads and the frost was still in the ground so the roads were very rough and he was going down the road at a fairly fast rate of speed. While he was on his way out of the dirt road, he ended up breaking a shock absorber on the passenger rear side of his truck. So he had to drive back to his friends house, go with his friend to O’reilys before they closed and get a shock.

Mike ended up being very lucky because he got the last shock absorber O’reilys had and then he had to go back in the cold and put the shock back on. So later on in his ownership of this truck, the transmission finally decided to not work anymore. So with this happening Mike had no vehicle to get to work so he had to start borrowing his sister’s vehicle. Mike and his dad spent many nights fixing his truck and in the process of doing so Mike ended learning that doing all those burnouts and beating on his truck was not worth all the time and money spent doing so. So in the end he ended up getting the truck back on the road and running great and he drives this truck daily as we speak.
