Patience

Patience is being understanding and tolerant. But, patience isn’t something everyone in born with. Many people need to constantly remind themselves during hard times to stay patient. A great personal example I think a lot of people could relate to, is how I showed patience through a global pandemic.

In January 2020, our world was suprised with a new virus called Covid-19 that would lead to a global pandemic. In the beginning, everyone rushed straight to the nearest store and starting buying essential houshold items in bulk. The most anoying part of that was stores running out of toilet paper for weeks. Then as soon as they got a new shipment, it was sold just as fast as they could get it off the truck and onto the shelves. Any time you walked into any Walmarts, Hannafords, Targets, etc., you would see nothing but bare shelfs and frantic customers. I specifically remember the only store we could count on was Tiltons market, a small gas station in buckfield. Tiltons was the only store that always had what we needed. My family and I had patience though it by not getting upset, but instead understanding why people were acting this way. Even if the way the world was acting was a bit ridiculous.

Eventually, the pandemic got to the point where governments were imposing “stay at home” orders and shutting down all non-essential buildings and businesses. This tested everyone’s patience. The world had never been so boring. With people not being allowed to do anything except wait. The only thing we could do to not lose our minds was try to distract ourselves. Some of the things I did alot to maintain patience included playing games on my playstation, playing cards, watching netflix, and the occasial car drive to nowhere. Even though the pandemic still isn’t over, I’m reaizing now that my patience will pay off, and losing your patience will only make the situation worse and more stressful.
