A Mistake I Made

Back in October of last year I bought two Bruins tickets for Ashtyn and I to go to the game. Ashtyn had to get a negative COVID test in order to get into the game. Not thinking anything of it we just decide we will schedule a test when the time comes. A couple months went by and before we know it it’s almost January. The game is scheduled for January 6th so we booked our train tickets so we don’t have to drive down there. However, we didn’t think to schedule a COVID test for the day before we leave when we should have. The Monday before the game comes around and we realize that we haven’t scheduled a test yet. So we go to schedule a test and we find out that there is no appointments available all week in the whole state. We obviously had to cancel the game luckily we got our money back for everything. Looking back on this the reason that I was most upset about this mistake was because I knew it could have been easily prevented if we would of schedule a test earlier. We had so long to do it and just never thought about it for some reason. One thing that contributed to us not thinking of it was because there has never been a problem of shortages of testing for a while but the recent surge of COVID and the shortage of test changed that. We should have been more aware of what was happening around us and scheduled a test at least 2 weeks before.

Some big take-aways I got from this is that I need to think and be more proactive with things like this. I can’t always wait until the last minute and hope everything works out as planned. This is a small mistake that I made but there is a bigger picture that goes along with this. Procrastination and not having a plan A, B, and C is a big thing in life. I think that this mistake that I made will help me benefit in life because it taught me to have different plans and to not sit back and think that nothing will go wrong but instead to be more proactive with my decisions.
