I remember it was the summer of 2020. Covid 19 had been a thing for some time. We went into a summer that started in March getting out of school early. It was fun but after a while of not being in school, things got boring. There was a lot of sadness in the world. There were not many options to go and have fun. No water parks were open or indoor places, but my two best friends and I had each other to make the most out of everything. We spent every single day together always finding something to do. We were always laughing about something till we could not breathe. When with them they always were happy and radiating positivity. When hanging out there is never and was never a dull moment with them. One hot day we loaded up my jeep with a paddleboard. We headed down to the lake having a great time. We got there and threw the board into the water. The limit on the board was 250 pounds. It was not meant to hold three people. We all three were well over that limit. It started sinking. We were in the middle of the lake. We managed to get off and swim it back to shore. When we did we drained the water out and left laughing so hard at what we had just gone through. We got back to my friend’s house as the sun was setting. My friend noticed then her apple watch was missing. We went back to the lake to look. My other friend and I had felt bad and tried to help look but it had definitely fallen off in the water, at least that’s what we think. We came back multiple days to see if we missed it and see if it had fallen onto the grown. It hadn’t. Now to the present day two years later my parents had got me an apple watch. It was a gift for Christmas from my parents. I hung out with my friends the next day. The memory of my friend losing hers was brought up. They said they never last long. We spent the night in a hotel for my friend’s birthday. After coming back from the trip, my apple watch was gone, I had dropped it in the pool.
