I believe there is a right and a wrong time to do anything, so if calling has to be done rather than texting so be it. I have been in situations where you need to get a hold of someone as soon as you can so you call, and also if you are going to have a lengthy conversation, calling would probably be the way to go. but if you are texting somebody with important information that they can go back to in the text and see, that would be the perfect time to decide to text someone.
I have been in many situations where I need to have things written down in order for me to remember to do anything, such as there was a time when I was just going to our local store in town and I decided i could remember everything I needed to get, but I ended up forgetting just about everything I actually needed to get, and this goes from grocery stores to parts stores. I have been a fan of working on vehicles for as long as I can remember and I am currently working on getting an engine into my truck as soon as it can be done, and I have been on this project for a very long time. So when I need parts I will have my dad or someone text me a list of what I need to get down at the automotive parts store. I do this because if I just decide to go down without a list I will end up forgetting some important parts and will usually end up going back the next day and that is just a waste of time. Anyways, back to the call or text thing.
Obviously in this day and age there is a lot less calling going on which is honestly too bad. Calling should be done more because it helps people build a skill that is used for a lifetime, and that is talking to people. I have seen many of my friends and acquaintances be afraid to pick up the phone and simply order a pizza and they get all scared to call and simply ask for what they want. Things like this can be overwhelming sometimes but the best way to get over it is to do it. With this being said, how would those people be able to call a doctor and set up an appointment? How would they call and set up an oil change for their car? If people don’t pick up the phone more often and be a little more brave, our society could lose the simple drive of self confidence in setting up personal appointments over the phone. In conclusion, I believe calling and texting are amazing features we have at our fingertips, but I still believe that there are more appropriate times to do either of them.
