A Full Heart

Hlagasse23 is a fun and spunky girl to be around. She loves art and creativity. Hlagasse is very close with her mom and loves animals. She has six cats, one dog, and two sugar gliders, along with a bunch of farm animals. Hlagasse definitely has a style of her own and is not afraid to stand out from the crowd.

Hlagasse’s avatar represents the most valued loves in her life. She chose her love for her mom, art, and music. These are the most important aspects of her life. But Hlagasse doesn’t just love these for the sake of loving them, there is meaning behind each one. The symbols in her avatar are special to Hlagasse.

The red heart in the center of the page represents her love for her mom. Hlagasse and her mom are very close. Her mom has helped her through some unimaginable circumstances. Not only did they grow close during those times, but Hlagasse is also the mini version of her mom. A lot of people assume that they’re twin sisters. You’ll notice there is a line down the middle of the heart. When I asked Hlagasse what this line meant, she stated “My mom and I are very similar. We’re almost the same person. But we’re not. I am still a separate person”. I first thought that the heart was red because that’s the color of a heart but I was wrong. Hlagasse chose the color red because it symbolizes her personality. She explained to me “Take my hair for example. I dye it red because it’s a bold color, like me. It helps me stand out”. What stands out to me is not just her hair, but her passion. Hlagasse put all of her needs aside to help the people she loves. Everything she does she does to the best of her ability. 

The music note and buttons in each corner represent Hlagasse love for art and music. She has been involved in art and music since she was in sixth grade. She decided to get into art and music to find a way to express herself. When I asked her why she likes art and music, she said “It makes me happy! It’s an easy way to express myself emotionally and physically. It allows me to escape from the world”. Hlagasse is very creative and she loves being able to show that in different ways.

The process she used to create her avatar and the process I used is very similar. We both took the biggest aspects of our life and incorporated them into the avatar. The difference between our processes is that mine is more complex and needs explanation to understand and hers is pretty straightforward.
