It’s Contagious

Laughing is one of the most contagious things out there, it’s almost like a virus, but a good virus, that everyone likes to catch. I love funny people, the ones who don’t try, can just spill humor out of their words like it’s nothing, the ones that always take time to joke with you. Somehow they always lighten my day up. It didn’t matter if it was morning or night, happy or sad, they always could. Whenever I can catch a good laugh with someone like a friend or family member, it always brightens up my mood. Humor is an extremely important part of someone’s personality for me. I always look out for it. When meeting new people, I always tend to get along with the ones I can joke and laugh with, I always form tight bonds with those people. Even if it’s someone who I wouldn’t normally get along with. It doesn’t matter who they are. One of my favorite things to do is to find something so funny that I and whichever friend(s) I’m with can laugh for what feels like forever, the feeling of uncontrollably laughing with a close friend will never get old. The story I’ll be writing about today displays exactly that, how a good laugh can go a long way.

Maybe 5 years ago is when I first realized I love to laugh, I would always have someone to help me, my cousin Trent was 11 and I was 12, so we thought alike. It was September, still warm so we were always outside. Because we were kids, we would always find the most creative things to do Both me and Trent could use our imaginations to come up with weird games and rules that would turn into a bunch of fun games we would play a lot. Which always created a lot of laughs. We created a game where we threw a tennis ball at each other for the other catch, depending on where the ball was received by the target, you would get a different set of points. After a while of playing, we kept trying to do different things like throwing the ball sidearm. After a while, we just kept missing the targets and we kept laughing. I remember we could not stop because no matter how hard we tried, we just kept laughing about the same thing and we kept missing over and over. Even when we would try to stop and focus I would start laughing and ruin every throw. This moment just stuck with me forever, I have never laughed so hard in my life. It just made me realize how much I love laughter and humor, it feels like a core memory of my life.
