Today I am not completely sure how I will be beginning this speech. Surprisingly enough to me and you both it is done on time. As fellow students and friends, we have all developed memories together whether good or bad. These next couple weeks is where we all begin our next chapter, each and every one of us will either fail or succeed. We are next to become the future leaders and innovators. As we all move forward in our next journeys we will encounter the unknown filled with surprises, risks, and failure. Although failure sounds scary and none of us want to encounter it, it is an opportunity to learn and grow to take one step closer to our own success stories. I am filled with high hopes and excitement for the future as I’m sure many of you are as well, now as each of us leave high school to embark on the next chapter of our lives, to pursue our dreams and passions there is no set time to make it to the finish line.
Now that I have gotten that formal introduction out of the way I have to manage to maintain this speech for a few more minutes in hopes it is good enough to pass. As real life begins, and reality checks us all, I hope to see all of us conquer our dreams in all of our own unique ways. We all will be striving for success and stepping closer and closer to our own one big goal. Even though we all dream about success, how do we define it? We all have our own definition and sights on success, but remember not to lose the importance of living life. For all of us to reach our goals we cannot be afraid to ask questions, as Eugene Ionesco said “It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question”. That is important for all of us to keep in mind because there is no bad or stupid question other than the questions gone unasked. To this next chapter in life we all hope to result in success; we will all have plenty of encounters with failure.
The fear of failure can easily ruin opportunities, newly opened doors, and new beginnings. It is important for all of us not to fear failure but to use it as a lesson to be learned, a learning experience, and an avenue for something new to be explored. Failure should not be seen as the snake that leads us back to square one, but rather the motivation that pushes us closer to the top. I’ve noticed day to day there are so many people afraid of failure including myself. As all of us now being young adults we cannot sit duck because fear of failure maintains us in our comfort zone. We need to learn to push ourselves out of our comfort zone so we can reflect on our success and failure to benefit our future. No matter our abilities or who we encounter there will never be a perfect only a best. You are the only person able to limit yourself, failure is to be faced not to be feared, everytime I have encountered failure I always remember “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take”.-Wayne Gretzky
Now the next chapter is beginning; I am going to start it by dragging this speech out even longer. And here we go, off to Maine Maritime, just wonderful. My loving and caring LRTC automotive teacher Mr. CoolMan Rodney Boynton that absolutely annihilates me whenever I am late or complaining. Love that guy! Now where was I going with this? Oh right, my best memory with him, polishing his bright and squeaky chrome dome Mr. Clean looking head. That Meguiars quick detailer works wonders! So back to this Maine Maritime thing, I’m gonna be down sailin out in the runnin watah bro with the penguins and polar bears. YOOOOO! Anyways without all the teachers I’ve met along my way through school and the relationships I have made, I have no clue what career path I would be pursuing right now. As we all move forward in our next journeys we will encounter the unknown filled with surprises, risks, and failure but we cannot lose sight. We all are now set free to embark on the next chapter of our lives, to pursue our dreams and passions and let loose to chase the money bag. As we are all ready to finally start our own lifes and end the first milestone I would like to wish you all good luck on your future endeavors and remember “Don’t Lose Sight”.-ItsJusta6
