Shadow Hunters of Ccook24

Ccook24’s avatar is a very simplistic design. Her design is composed of one multi-colored sword, centered in the middle, and superimposed over a solid black background. The sword has a straight and relatively short blade that is purple. And the hilt has multiple colors. The cross-guard and pommel are brown, while the grip is a bright teal. The sword is tilted at a 45-degree angle pointing towards the top right corner of the border.
There are not many features to grab your attention on Ccook24’s avatar. But what catches my attention most is the simplicity. The singular sword that encompasses the whole avatar grabs my attention. It was surprising at first sight. I was expecting to see a multitude of symbols that represent her life. But no, one sword is what she felt most fit. This shows how simple Ccook24 is.
This sword although by itself, has lots of meaning behind it. When Ccook24 was making her avatar, Shadow Hunters came to mind. Shadow Hunters is her “favorite book series” (Ccook24). She wanted the sword to make up the whole avatar. Ccook24 says that “the sword” was the easiest part of the process (Ccook24). I asked Ccook24 why she started watching Shadow Hunters and why it means so much to her and told me that Shadow Hunters has meant a lot to her starting a few years ago when she picked up the first book of the series. She fell in love with the book and went on to watch the TV series that followed. This series is very dark. This is why she went with a dark background. She thought the “dark” background represented the show very well (Ccook24). In the series, the characters fight with swords, which encourages her one of two symbols in her avatar.
Ccook24 and I’s avatars are very different. Ccook24’s avatar is very dark, while mine is very vibrant and filled with bright colors. Ccook24’s avatar is very simple, only having 2 symbols, while mine has 6 included. Both of our avatars have a symbol that represents a film that we enjoy. For her, it’s Shadow Hunters and for me, it’s Infinity War. My avatar has meaning behind every color while her use of brown, purple, and teal has no symbolism. My first design was the one I fell in love with and thought best represented me, and Ccook24 had multiple other sketches and trial and error to get to her final design. Ccook24 and I have very different avatars and it can be seen from them that we are two completely different people. Ccook24 made a great avatar with such simplicity. It is easy to understand who she is after looking at her avatar.
